West Shropshire Talking Newspaper

A UNIQUE DIGITAL NEWS AND INFORMATION SERVICE
PROVIDED FREE OF CHARGE TO BLIND AND PARTIALLY SIGHTED PEOPLE.
The West Shropshire Talking Newspaper (WSTN) relies on volunteers, donations and fund-raising. In an average year around £10,000 is needed to pay running costs and replace specialised equipment and consumables.
Unlike many charities our volunteers are always kept busy directly carrying out the various production roles to achieve our weekly and monthly audio publications. Some also find time to make tin collections on town streets (Eleanor Gillogaley, Alan Wilding and Sandra Hunter are pictured above, in Shrewsbury) and also in supermarket foyers. Additionally WSTN volunteers give talks and sell fund-raising Christmas cards and local view notelets.
Although they are under no obligation, many of our WSTN listeners send donations and some leave a legacy or relatives organise a funeral collection.
Donations of any amount are always particularly welcome and become even more beneficial if they are gift-aided (see separate page for a simple form which can be completed by any taxpayer).
Please let us know how you wish to help.
You will have the satisfaction of knowing that your contribution is providing valuable support to blind and partially sighted people in the western half of Shropshire.
